Production Tips For Large Format Graphics

Here a few tips for large format production when handling roll printers:

  • Roll the graphic on the outside of the paper.  This prevents wrinkles.
  • Roll graphics on a core or leave the center at least that open.  Tight rolls are harder to lay flat on a table.
  • Roll graphics from bottom to top so that top is up and ready for install.
  • Unless necessary,  anything 10' and under in length can be rolled with multiple sheets on top of each other.
  • If it is part of a mural, make sure that they are in order.

Transferring Wordpress Websites

Transferring Wordpress Websites

We are transferring a client's website from a staging domain to the main domain on Saturday in order to reduce business hour downtime as much as possible. The client is hosting on hostmonster.com (same company bluehost) and here is the help doc that outlines their process:

https://my.hostmonster.com/hosting/help/moving-wordpress-from-one-folder-to-another

I, however, took a different route for particular reasons.

In ramping up to the launch and working closely with the client's SEO expert, Neal, I encountered one or two issues that caused concern. A week or two prior, the development site went down so I got on Host Monster's chat to track down the problem as I couldn't see anything from my end that was raising any flags.

I must say, throughout the process, Host Monster's support was excellent and (or but depending on how you might feel) methodical. After half an hour or so the site was back up. I asked them what was causing the glitch, but the support person simply replied that it's working now without providing any details.

We also encountered stuttering steps while installing a third party SSL certificate. Host Monster's control panel interface is relatively straightforward to navigate, even if you aren't all too familiar with the intricacies of SSL, certificates, CSRs and everything else.

I review many marketing automation tools, services, programs, etc., every month. Because it's such an important part of the service we provide our clients and also because I'm really passionate about what marketing automation can do to help their businesses be successful in this noisy (mess)age.

And getting right to the point, the thing that nearly ALL of them are missing is a HUGE miss -- they ignore print in the mix.

Many marketing automation programs simply tee up emails. Others get more jiggy and drop SMS into the mix. But no one really offers the ability to place the print bullet in a trigger. And we've seen time and time again that PRINT can be the true killshot in a campaign.

Think about how accustomed you are to swiping away email after email offer, sufficiently targeted or not. We do it without even thinking about it at this point.

But try sending a postcard teaser and then the email? That's right, it multiplies your potential effectiveness many-fold.

I'll show you how.
